Kwena Maphaka early life
Kwena Maphaka was born on 8 April 2006 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His entire family is involved in sports, his father Maboe Maphaka was a football player and his mother Raesibe Maphaka was into athletics, and his elder brother Tetelo Maphaka is a leg spinner. His family always supported him and made it easier for Kwena to pursue a sports career in cricket. He gives credit to his family for where he is today in his cricket career.
In childhood, Kwena used to play a lot of games with his brother in the backyard of the house. However, his elder brother Tetelo was interested in cricket due to which Kwena used to bowl for him.
Along with cricket, Kwena Maphaka is also interested in many other sports, he played hockey, football, rugby and did athletics. He still plays hockey from his province. But he says that among all these, his favorite is cricket and it is more suitable for him.
Kwena played the 2022 Under-19 World Cup at the age of just 15. However, he got a chance to play in only three matches and in those three matches he took 7 wickets.
Kwena Maphaka is being compared with Rabada, although he has a lot of respect and praise for Rabada, but he considers Dale Steyn as his idol.
